PDIP's Lawsuit At The PTUN Continues After The Constitutional Court Rejects Ganjar-Mahfud's Request Regarding The Presidential Election Dispute

The PDI-P (PDIP) respects the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) rejecting the application for Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD's camp regarding the dispute over the results of the 2024 presidential election. However, the lawsuit at the State Administrative Court (PTUN) continues to fight for democracy.

This was conveyed by the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto in response to the Constitutional Court's decision which was read out on Monday, April 22. He said, what was conveyed must be obeyed but his party will fight through other channels.

"Even though the Constitutional Court failed in carrying out its functions as a bulwark of the Constitution and a bulwark of democracy, considering the nature of its final and binding decision, the PDI-P respects the Constitutional Court's decision and will continue to fight in maintaining the Constitution and fighting for democracy through democratic, honest and fair elections," said Hasto at the PDIP DPP office, Jalan Diponegoro, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday, April 22.

"And fight to use every legal space including through the Administrative Court," he continued.

"The party bearing the bull symbol feels the need to fight for democracy," said Hasto. The reason is that they do not want the upcoming general election (election) to be colored by various frauds.

Moreover, democracy in Indonesia should not be merely procedural. Hasto said this condition could endanger the legitimacy of the future government which will face various challenges.

"Especially with various national economic problems and global geopolitical challenges," he said.

Previously reported, the PDI-P (PDIP) through the Indonesian Democratic Struggle Team (PDI) filed a lawsuit with the State Administrative Court (PTUN). The General Election Commission (KPU) became the defendant.

"The point of the lawsuit is an unlawful act by the state apparatus, the defendant KPU," said former Supreme Court Judge (MA) Gayus Lumbuun who became the leader of the PDI Team in the Administrative Court, Cakung, East Jakarta, Tuesday, April 2.

Gayus revealed that the act against the law committed by the KPU was to pass Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the vice presidential candidate accompanying Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election. This institution is considered to have violated the law because it contradicts the principles and norms in the general election (election).
