Australian Man Arrested By The Immigration Team Because Of Posting Orgasm Class Ads In Bali

DENPASAR - Immigration officers secure a foreign citizen (WNA) from Australia named Andrew Irvine Barnes (51), in the Ubud area, Gianyar, Bali.

The male foreigner was arrested for making an advertisement about an alleged class about orgasm and it ended up going viral on social media.

"This afternoon, our officers met with the person concerned and we have taken the passport and arrested him", said the Head of the Bali Provincial Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum HAM), Jamaruli Manihuruk in a written statement, Friday, March 5.

The foreigner was secured for placing an advertisement suspected of having an orgasm class with an event labeled "Tantric Full Body Energy Orgasm Retreat" which will be held in Ubud, Gianyar Regency, Bali, from Saturday, March 6 to Tuesday, March 9.

The event charged participants USD 500 or the equivalent of around IDR 7 million.

"This is done by foreigners at this time. The plan will actually be carried out tomorrow. Information (allegedly) will pay around USD 500. This means that we do not really know these practices, we will deepen investigation", he added.

Jamaruli emphasized that his party would investigate the case of this Australian foreigner. Currently, that man is still under the Gianyar Police, Bali.

"But, for further investigation, this is a general criminal offense and is outside of immigration. We are purely on the abuse of residence permits or immigration", he said.

"So, earlier after we found the problem, we took it to the immigration office. But 20 minutes later, officers from the police came to pick up the suspect. So, meanwhile, the police officer brought him to be examined further", continued Jamaruli.

He said, if later the police inspection found violations committed by foreigners, immigration would follow up.

"This means that we can also use the examination if there is a violation. As a basis for providing immigration administrative action or immigration crime. Related to the practice that is carried out", said Jamaruli.

Previously, the Balinese were shocked by the plan to hold an "orgasm class" by a foreigner named Andrew Bares and the event will be held starting on Saturday, March 6 tomorrow.
