The KULON PROGO-General Election Commission (KPU) of Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, has set a minimum requirement for support for prospective pairs of candidates from individual or independent elements in the Kulon Progo regional head election (pilkada) in November 2024 as many as 29,329 people.
Chairman of the Kulon Progo KPU Budi Priyana in Kulon Progo, Friday, said the number of permanent voters (DPT) of Kulon Progo was 345,038 voters, bringing the minimum number of voters to 29,329.
"Individual candidates can register as candidates for regent and deputy regent candidates in the 2024 Kulon Progo regional head election if they meet the minimum requirements of 29,329 voters, the distribution of at least seven out of 12 kalinewons in this region," said Budi Priyana.
He said the provisions were based on the Kulon Progo KPU Decree Number 343 of 2024 concerning the minimum requirements and the distribution of support for individual candidates in the election of the regent and deputy regent of Kulon Progo 2024.
He explained that the support for individual candidates must be spread by more than 50 percent of the number of whenewons in Kulon Progo.
