JAKARTA - Front Rescues Democracy and Reform (F-PDR) plans to apply as an amicus stealee or a court friend to the Constitutional Court (MK) before the 2024 presidential election dispute decision.

This submission follows the steps taken by the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri, who previously applied as an amicus stealee.

"What has been proposed by Mrs. Mega, we have also compiled. So, there will be four points that we will convey there. We will see after we discuss it. We will convey it there," said Chairman of the F-PDR Marshal (Ret.) TNI Agus Supriatna at the F-PDR Secretariat, Jalan Diponegoro, Central Jakarta, Thursday, April 18.

From the launch of amicus theft, the former Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force (KSAU) urged the judges of the Constitutional Court to think clearly in deciding the PHPU for the 2024 presidential election submitted by the petitioners.

"We are just urgent and we are sure that all the judges in the Constitutional Court, hopefully they use their conscience rationally, think healthyly, use common sense, with their conscience, so that they can sincerely, what, how, how, the 2024 election, especially the 2024 presidential election," said Agus.

Megawati Soekarnoputri previously volunteered as an amicus stealee at the Constitutional Court. Amicus stole is defined as a court friend who helps the court by offering information, expertise, or insight related to the issues in the case.

Megawati through PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and PDIP DPP Chair Djarot Saiful Hidayat submitted amicus theft documents to the Constitutional Court, Tuesday, April 16.

"All the considerations conveyed by Megawati's mother as an amicus stealee and then closed with handwriting," said Hasto to reporters at the Constitutional Court, Jakarta.

After submitting the document, Hasto read out a little of Megawati's legal opinion as stated in the amicus theft, which reads:

"My beloved Indonesian people, let us pray that the hammer of the constitutional court is not a hammer, but a golden hammer. As said Kartini's mother in 1911: 'After the darkness come out light' so that the dawn of democracy that we have fought for has always emerged again and will be remembered continuously by the generations of the Indonesian nation."
