Ahead Of The 2024 Presidential Election Dispute Decision, Constitutional Justices Massively Hold RPH

Eight constitutional judges began to massively hold a Hakim Consultative Meeting (RPH) ahead of the decision on the General Election Result Dispute (PHPU) case on Monday, April 22.

MK spokesman Fajar Laksono said constitutional judges - without Anwar Usmam - had held an RPH since the trial with the hilly agenda was completed.

"Starting today is the 16th (April) after the conclusion until the 21st (April) is scheduled for RPH every day, the focus is on discussing the presidential election case," Fajar said as quoted on Wednesday, April 17.

RPH is a closed activity. Only constitutional judges know the discussion in each of these meetings.

In fact, the RPH is not allowed for anyone to carry a cellphone. The goal is to maintain the confidentiality of the material and development of the discussion.

"We then take care of the RPH-RPH. In fact, the cellphone cannot be carried during the RPH, both judges and employees," he said.

On the other hand, Fajar understands that the trial of the 2024 presidential election dispute is a momentum for the Constitutional Court to maintain the independence and imparity of constitutional judges.

So it is certain that the constitutional judges are not burdened with narratives that develop outside in determining their decisions.

"This is momentum for the Constitutional Court and of course how far the Constitutional Court makes this momentum inseparable from independence, the impercity that must be maintained today continues to be built and later the results can only be assessed when decided," said Fajar.
