JAKARTA - Political observer and Executive Director of Survey and Polling Indonesia (SPIN) Igor Dirgantara encourages political elites to carry out national reconciliation after the 2024 election.

In a written statement in Jakarta, Sunday, he said that the elite political parties (political parties) and presidential candidates (candidates) and defeated vice presidential candidates (cawapres) want to carry out national reconciliation in order to maintain national unity.

"President Jokowi and elected president Prabowo Subianto have shown a statesmanship attitude, after completing a contest by becoming a force to advance the nation," he explained.

According to him, Prabowo as a figure who is flexible in communicating is believed to be able to reconcile with the Chairperson of the PDI-P Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"They have no problems, both personal and ideological," he said.

Prabowo juga, kata Igor, bisa melakukan konsolidasi nasional dengan lintas partai dan tokoh lainnya, sebab ketua umum Partai Gerindra itu memiliki tiga keunggulan sebagai tokoh memuni bangsa.

"Prabowo is an independent people's officer in prioritizing the interests of the people, not the interests of political parties," he asserted.

Third, Prabowo understands that national unity is a pillar towards an advanced Indonesia. Differences can be made with the attitude of egalitarianism, the spirit of reconciliation and mutual respect as shown by Prabowo who actively stay in touch with Jokowi and several political party leaders after the 2024 presidential election.
