Minister Of Transportation Gives Option Of Five TBB Ships To Face Backflow Surge

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi provides an option to provide five ships operating with a TBB (Sudden, unloading, departing) pattern to deal with a possible surge in backflow passengers at Bakauheni Port, Lampung.

"Tomorrow (Monday, 15/4) especially, we provide five ships for TBB," Budi told reporters at Bakauheni Port, Lampung, Sunday.

He said, during the several days of backflow service, there were three ships that implemented TBB. According to records, he said, although only three TBB ships but the service was sloping. "So that means it's sloping. Conservative like that," he said.

Facing the possibility of a surge in passengers and vehicles on Monday (15/4), the Minister of Transportation gave the option of the TBB ship increasing from three units to five units.

Budi explained, previously during the homecoming flow, the TBB ship operated from Ciwandan Port to Panjang Port, so that it could support the number of ship trips from Merak Port to Bakauheni Port.

"And what is important for this backflow is how the Panjang Port is functioning properly and people from Bandar Lampung use it optimally," he said.

PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) in service of backflow from Sumatra to Java through Bakauheni Port and Panjang Port, as well as vice versa from Java to Sumatra through Merak Port and Ciwandan Port, provided 66 ships.

ASDP recorded that on Saturday (13/4) the number of passengers on the backflow who were dispatched from Bakauheni to Merak was 115,950 people, up from the previous day as many as 68,939 people.

In addition to passengers, the number of two-wheeled vehicles that were dispatched on the same day reached 12,544 units, an increase from the previous day's 5,984 units, and four-wheeled units as many as 14,415 units from the previous day as many as 8,905 units.
