The Atambua Regional Office of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Ministry of Law and Human Rights Immigration Office recorded the number of border crossers through three Cross-Border Posts (PLBN) with Timor Leste during the homecoming flow, reaching 1,130 to 1,335 people in a day.

"The national border crossers go through three posts, namely PLBN Mota Ain in Belu Regency, PLBN Wini in North Central Timor Regency (TTU) and PLBN Motamasin in Malacca Regency," said Head of the Atambua Immigration Office Indra Maulana D, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, April 13.

He detailed that of the three PLBNs, PLBN Mota Ain in Belu Regency with the highest number of border crossers, where in a day it can reach 1,153 border crossers.

Indra also added that every day during the homecoming flow from April 5 to 10 the range of border crossers at PLBN Mota Ain is indeed the most.

Meanwhile, PLBN Wini in North Central Timor Regency (TTU) in a day the number of crossings that cross is only from 101 passers to 182 border crossers a day.

Meanwhile, PLBN Motamasin in Malacca Regency has a limit crossover in a day ranging from 98 to 122 passers.

Indra added that although there was an increase, the number was not as significant as the crossing during Easter or Christmas and New Year (Nataru).

"Nataru's experience yesterday was that the border crossings could reach 2,000 people a day, if currently it is not up to half," he said.

Dengan kondisi demikian, kata dia pihaknya tidak menempatkan personel dalam jumlah yang banyak, karena tidak banyak yang melintas.

Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Marciana D. Jone was contacted separately saying that it is true that every year the border crossings through the three PLBNs during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming flow are not much.

"This is because the majority of those from NTT and vice versa from Timor Leste adhere to Christian beliefs so that not many travel," he said.
