ODC Task Force Says KKB Shoots Two Civilians In Ilaga, Central Papua

The Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force (ODC Task Force) said that armed criminal groups (KKB) shot two civilians in Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua Province.

Head of the Cartenz Peace Operations Public Relations Task Force (Kasatgas) AKBP Bayu Suseno through a release received in Timika, Tuesday, said that on April 9, 2024 at 14:52 WIT, KKB shot two civilians at the Yesey Mersey Bridge Kiosk, Kampung Kago, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency.

"The victim, on behalf of Pampang, suffered a gunshot wound to the right side of the head. The victim is currently in critical condition at the Ilaga Regional General Hospital (RSUD)," he said, quoted by Antara.

According to Kasatgas, the second victim namedNortinus suffered a bullet reset on the left side of the waist. The victim is currently in stable condition after receiving medical treatment at the Ilaga Hospital.

"We will continue to carry out intensive investigations by conducting a crime scene (TKP) to collect related evidence and pursue the perpetrators of the shooting," he said.

Head of Operations (Kaops) Damai Cartenz Kombes Pol. Faizal Ramadhani deeply regrets the KKB action by continuing to terrorize civilians.

"We deeply regret the shooting incident by the KKB against civilians and officers in Ilaga District, Puncak Regency," he said.

It was emphasized that this action was not justified. In this case, his party is committed to continuing to carry out law enforcement efforts.

"We are committed to continuing to enforce the law and arresting perpetrators from the KKB who have the heart to injure and threaten the safety of people's lives," he said.
