BADUNG - Passengers at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, continue to increase near Lebaran.

General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan, noted that up to D-3 Lebaran, Sunday (7/4), passengers who had been served reached 324,433 passengers or an average of 64,887 passengers per day.

"This condition increased by about 21 percent compared to normal day operations throughout 2024 with an average of 53,617 passengers per day," said Handy, Monday, April 8.

Of the total passengers, passenger arrivals or passenger arrivals still dominate, namely as many as 168,332 passengers consisting of 78,282 domestic passenger arrivals and 90,050 international passengers.

Meanwhile, the number of passengers departing or departure passengers was 156,101 passengers consisting of 59,779 departures for domestic passengers and 96,322 international passengers.

During the five-day implementation of the Idhul Fitri Transportation Post which has been taking place since April 3, 2024, the highest total number of domestic and international passengers served occurred on Saturday (6/4) with 72,402 passengers. This number consists of 38,087 domestic passengers and 34,315 international passengers.

The highest number of domestic passengers occurred on Sunday (7/4) as many as 33,215, which is also the peak of the arrival of the highest domestic passengers with 19,941 arrivals, while the departure of domestic passengers was 13,274 passengers.

Handy said that his party predicts that it will serve up to one million passengers during the post period which will last until April 18.

"When compared to the realization of the Lebaran Command Post in 2023, our prediction this year will increase by 1.36 percent," he said.

In addition, there were 64 additional flights, with an average of 12 additional flights per day.

"Rute Jakarta through Soekarno Hatta Airport is the domestic route with the highest number of passengers, followed by Surabaya and Lombok. Meanwhile, international routes with the highest number of passengers are Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Perth, Australia," he said.
