Methamphetamine In Rice Wraps For Prisoners Failed To Be Smuggled Into The Putussibau Rutan In West Kalimantan

JAKARTA - The Putussibau Detention Center (Rutan) thwarted the smuggling of methamphetamine in food deposits from one of the wives of prisoners (prisoners) at Putussibau Detention Center, Kapuas Hulu Regency, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan).

"Based on information from the main gate officer who entrusted food to the wife of a prisoner with the initials AG, the smuggling attempt was successfully thwarted," said Putussibau Detention Center Head Efendi Johan, in Putussibau, Kapuas Hulu, Saturday, April 6 evening, confiscated by Antara.

Efendi explained that the food containing drugs was known to have started when the wife of AG (convicts) left food for AG, Saturday, April 6.

Then, the officers checked the prisoner's belongings and found methamphetamine-type drugs stored in rice weighing an estimated half a gram.

"For this incident, I coordinated with the Head of Drugs at the Kapuas Hulu Police and from the information from the police, the methamphetamine type was estimated to weigh half a gram," he said.

Efendi said, it has become a provision for standard operating procedures (SOP) for every luggage for inmates to be examined or searched as an effort to anticipate the input of prohibited items.

He also said that the case had been handed over to the Kapuas Hulu Police Narcotics Unit for further processing.

In addition, Efendi also appreciated the officers' efforts to prevent and disclose drug smuggling efforts into the Putussibau Detention Center.
