Market Inspection, Bulungan Regent Ensures Prices Of Basic Needs Are Still Fair

TANJUNG SELOR The Bulungan Regent accompanied by regional apparatus and the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) conducted an inspection of the prices of basic necessities ahead of the arrival of Eid Al-Fitr 1445 Hijri, at Tanjung Selor Main Market, Bulungan, North Kalimantan (Kaltara).

Bulungan Regent Syarwani said the results of monitoring the prices of basic necessities ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1 Syawal 1445 Hijriah were still within reasonable limits.

"Alhamdulillah, it is still within reasonable and normal limits, especially some of the main commodities that often have the potential for price spikes," said Syarwani, Friday, April 5.

Syarwani also ensures that the stock or availability of basic necessities is still safe.

"The price of local beef is currently around Rp. 150 thousand. For the availability of local beef, sellers still have stock up to D-1 Idul Fitri," he said.

In addition, other commodities such as caba cawit, onions, including fish stock are still in a safe condition at a reasonable price.

"The availability of this stock and price is still in a reasonable condition, I also ask that there be no hoarding of goods," he said.

"What must be anticipated is the alignment between supply and demand. When there is inequality, demand is high but goods are not available, of course, this is usually used by traders to increase prices within reasonable limits," he continued.

Syarwani is optimistic that ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri, all basic needs in Bulungan are safe and relatively affordable.

"I invite and urge all wholesale traders to maintain conduciveness and cleanliness," he added.

The Regent said, although from BPS Bulungan data, the Bulungan inflation rate increased by 0.31 percent when he observed Eid, this figure was still in a reasonable condition.

"We need to be aware of market supply and demand, because it involves the daily consumption needs of the Bulungan community, especially shallots and garlic still hanging from outside," he explained.

Therefore, what continues to be pursued is the smooth distribution so that there is no vacancy. Meanwhile, most of the chili needs can be met by local Bulungan farmers.

"Cayenne pepper is mostly from Bulungan, from our farmers in SP (residential units) and kilometer 57. Our farmers are able to maintain the harvest cycle, especially chilies, whose demand rates are quite high," said Syarwani.

Based on Bulog's report, rice stocks from April 4, 2024, rice stocks in Bulog's warehouse reached 700 tons. It is estimated that in August there will also be around 3,500 tons of rice stock to cover the needs of 3 regions in Kaltara, Bulungan, KTT and Malinau by the end of 2024.
