Vice President Believes That KSAU Only Understands National-State Issues

SULUT - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin hopes that the new Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) can understand related to national and state issues.

President Jokowi is known to have just appointed TNI Marshal (Marsdya) Mohamad Tonny Harjono as KSAU on Friday, April 5, replacing Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo, who will retire on April 9, 2024.

"The problem is Pak Tonny, we hope that he will become a staff chief who really understands the problems (of nationality and state)," said the Vice President in a press statement after witnessing the inauguration of the Regional Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KDEKS) of North Sulawesi Province (Sulut) in Manado City, North Sulawesi, quoted from an official statement from the Vice Presidential Secretariat, Thursday, April 4, confiscated by Antara.

The reason, continued the Vice President, Marsdya Tonny has a track record of cross-field assignments that not only hold positions in the military, but have also been the Presidential Military Secretary.

"He also certainly knows better about national and state issues that are not only technical in terms of air, but also problems (others), understanding politics, understanding the problem of the situation," he said.

Previously, Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana said the appointment of Marsdya Tonny as KSAU was stated in Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 20/TNI/2024 which was signed on March 25, 2024.

"The president has signed Presidential Decree No. 20/TNI/2024 dated March 25, 2024 regarding the honorific dismissal of TNI Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo from his position as KSAU, and the appointment of TNI Intermediate Marshal Mohamad Tonny Harjono as the new KSAU," Ari said in a short message in Jakarta, Tuesday, April 2.

In the press statement, the Vice President was accompanied by the Governor of North Sulawesi Olly Dondokambey, Plt. Executive Director of the National Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KNEKS) Taufik Hidayat, and the Vice President's Special Staff for Communication and Information Masduki Baidlowi.
