Commission II Of The DPR Postponed The Election Evaluation Meeting With The KPU Until May 13

JAKARTA - Commission II of the DPR has postponed a hearing (RDP) with the KPU and Bawaslu and DKPP until May 13, 2024.

Originally, a discussion meeting related to the evaluation of the 2024 General Election was held at 13.00 WIB but because the KPU was in session at the Constitutional Court (MK) plus one of the commissioners was performing Umrah, the meeting was postponed.

It is known that the DPR will close the session in early April. The DPR will convene again in mid-May.

"This is a situation that is not easy because on the one hand, the leadership of Commission II must accommodate the aspirations of the mother of Commission II who really wants further explanation of all processes for holding the 2024 election yesterday. Or we call it an evaluation," said Chairman of Commission II of the DPR Ahmad Doli Kurnia, Monday, April 1.

"Of course each member of Commission II has a note to the chairman of yesterday's election and some need to be clarified," he continued.

Doli said that his party understands that the KPU is currently being a respondent in the election dispute trial at the Constitutional Court. However, Commission II of the DPR also regrets that there is one member of the KPU who did not carry out his duties even though he was going to perform Umrah.

"So this raises a question mark, it is mandatory to attend there, you can't come here, but how come there are those who don't come. But in the end, I gave a middle ground, I think evaluation is necessary in implementing the program," said Doli.

"So we decided that we will suspension again later because there are only two days left for this trial period, the next date is May 13. Earlier we scheduled if there is no change on May 13. At the first opportunity on May 13 or 14, we will immediately hold another meeting," he concluded.
