JAKARTA - Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) legal team revealed that 10 witnesses resigned to be presented at the 2024 presidential election dispute trial.

The head of the AMIN National Law Team, Ari Yusuf Amir, said that 5 witnesses resigned before the Court's trial began.

"5 who resigned before the Constitutional Court trial consisted of village heads, election officers, and ASN from the Central Java region," Ari told reporters, Monday, April 1.

Then, there were 5 other witnesses who had just resigned since the Constitutional Court began holding a dispute trial for the election results dispute (PHPU).

"1 civil servant from Riau (resigning) is worried that he will be fired, 1 village head from Sulawesi is afraid that his position will be investigated, and 3 people consisting of kyai, boarding school caregivers, and students leaders are afraid of intimidation," explained Ari.

Meanwhile, a member of Anies-Imin's legal team, Bambang Widjojanto admitted that with many witnesses resigning, his team had to sort back other witnesses who could be brought to trial.

"We have dozens, almost 100 witnesses. We have been sorting for 3 reasons for almost 100 years. The quality of the witness testimony is appropriate or not, not in line with our petition, it must also be examined," said Bambang.
