Baznas Distributes Food And Water In Palestine During Ramadan

JAKARTA - Five months old Gazans have been attacked by Israelis. All residents in Gaza are already dependent on food assistance to survive.

The Indonesian National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) in collaboration with local institutions in Gaza, Althori Woman Center (AWC) distributed food and water to Palestinian refugees in Rafah, South Gaza during Ramadan 1445 H.

Chairman of the Indonesian Baznas Noor Achmad expressed his gratitude for being able to distribute ready-to-eat food aid worth 126,000 US dollars (around Rp. 2 billion) to Rafah.

"Alhamdulillah, Baznas food and water assistance can be received by the people of Rafah Gaza. It is hoped that this assistance will help Muslims there during Ramadan fasting," he said in a statement in Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, March 30.

He expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the cooperation and collaboration from AWC so as to allow the assistance to Palestinian refugees in Rafah.

"We also thank the donors, who have set aside some of their sustenance to help Palestinians who are experiencing difficulties," he said.

Noor emphasized that the Indonesian Baznas ensured that the distribution of humanitarian infaq from the Indonesian people to the Palestinian people was carried out by applying the principles of 3A (Safe Syari, Safe Regulation, Safe for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia).

"This humanitarian activity is in line with the mission of the Indonesian Baznas to reach more people who need it and have a positive impact on their lives," he said.

He prayed for the donors to get the appropriate reward from Allah SWT and hoped that the assistance would reach the right person.
