BANJARMASIN - Polda South Kalimantan has so far collected 58 victims of diesel fuel investment suspected of being fraudulent with a total loss of Rp39 billion.

"Please for other victims to report to the complaint post at the Ditreskrimum so that they can be recorded to determine exactly how many people have invested," said Director of General Criminal Investigation of the South Kalimantan Police Kombes Erick Frendriz in Banjarmasin as reported by ANTARA, Friday, March 29.

Erick also ensured that the reported FN (27) who manages the investment will soon be named as a suspect as the result of the case title by the investigative team.

The criminal charges are Article 372 concerning Embezzlement and Article 378 concerning Fraud with a maximum imprisonment of four years.

Even so, he admitted that currently investigators are still focused on collecting the assets belonging to the reported party which are suspected of being related to investment to be confiscated as evidence.

"The reported person is still cooperative by showing his assets that are suspected of being the proceeds of a crime or a process of committing a crime," he explained.

Meanwhile, the attorneys of dozens of reporters, Muhammad Ilham Fiqri, appreciated the steps forward for the investigation carried out by the police.

"If the suspect has been determined, we hope to be detained and his assets confiscated to return the losses of the victims," he said.

It is known that this fraudulent fuel investment case has been carried out by the reported party since 2020 by promising a profit of five percent each month to the victim.

The profit has continued to be given for four years, but since January 2024 the reported party has been unable to share profits, so the victims, which amounted to dozens of people, feel cheated and finally make a police report to the South Kalimantan Police.
