Entrepreneur Hanan Supangkat Called KPK Often Playing Projects When SYL Becomes Minister Of Agriculture

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said entrepreneur Hanan Supangkat often played projects at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) when Syahrul Yasin Limpo served as minister.

This allegation was revealed with a number of findings obtained during a search at his residence on Wednesday, March 6.

"We have findings related (Hanan Supangkat, ed) to projects in the Ministry of Agriculture," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, March 28.

It was not detailed what projects involved Hanan. Ali said investigators were still closing the meeting because information circulating could thwart the investigation process.

Ali only said that an entrepreneur usually does not only focus on one job. Hanan could have other businesses other than those related in the field of convection.

"If a businessman, right, he could move anywhere, yes, not only if the core business is basically in underwear," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK is focusing on handling allegations of money laundering (TPPU) which is the development of the extortion and gratification case of former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo. The name of businessman Hanan Supangkat was later dragged into this case.

In fact, investigators found Rp15 billion in Hanan's house, which is the boss of PT Mulia Knitting Factory as well as the former Chair of the Ferrari Owners Club Indonesia (FOCI) during a search. Hanan has now also been prevented from leaving the country.
