Unlike The Bengkulu City Government, The Bantul Regency Government Firmly Bans Its ASN From Using Official Cars At The 2024 Eid Moment

JAKARTA - Unlike the Bengkulu City Government (Pemkot), the Bantul Regency Government in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) strictly prohibits its state civil servants (ASN) from using official cars and regional assets for personal needs during Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri or Lebaran 2024.

"Soon, Lebaran and state civil servants (ASN) will usually go home to those whose houses are outside Bantul, so we have given a circular that regional asset assets, official cars should not be used for homecoming," said Bantul Regent Abdul Halim Muslih in Bantul, Wednesday, March 27, confiscated by Antara.

According to him, official cars or other official vehicles during the 2024 Eid can only be used for the purposes of carrying out their duties if during religious holidays they get jobs in accordance with their main duties and functions.

"In addition, it should not be used for homecoming for ASN individuals. This policy is clear and this is something ordinary, even the policy has been repeated we apply in Bantul Regency," he said.

Abdul said there were sanctions or consequences for ASN and regional officials who violated the circular regarding official cars not for Eid homecoming, the sanctions were adjusted to the level of indiscipline by the government apparatus.

"If there is a violation of the sanctions in the circular, the sanctions range from warning to warning sanctions and other administrative sanctions depending on the severity of violations," he said.

Meanwhile, Bantul Inspectorate Head Isdarmoko said that so far, regarding the ban on the use of official cars for homecoming, ASN and officials have understood, because the policy applies every year, and the government does not question when it is only used for worship.

"Everyone understands that if official vehicles are used when the family gathers and then is used for Eid prayers in the field, I think it is understandable, for small things like that we have no problem," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Bengkulu City Government allowed ASN in its area to use official vehicles during the 2024 Eid al-Fitr.

"For the use of official vehicles in the context of before Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri, specifically the city government does not impose a ban but rather an appeal. This means that in the use of official vehicles, of course, if for example it is used by ASN in order to participate in celebrating Eid al-Fitr, so that it is used properly, wisely, and carefully," said Head of the Bengkulu City Communication, Informatics and Communications Office (Kominfosan) Gitagi Raniputera in Bengkulu, Wednesday, March 27.

When using state-owned vehicles, he said, it is recommended to be more critical so that they can sort out when and when to use official vehicles to support individual mobility.

"We don't forbid it, but ethically, maybe ASN friends who hold the mandate to use official vehicles can think the most appropriate according to the situation and conditions in Bengkulu City," said Gitagi.
