Regarding THR For Ojol Drivers, Minister Of Manpower: There Are No Regulations For Workers With Partnership Status

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) said there are no rules regarding partnership relationship workers such as online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol). Thus, the Ministry of Manpower will prepare regulations that also regulate the holiday allowance (THR) for ojol drivers.

"There has been no regulation about workers with partnership status, therefore Commission IX, one of the conclusions, asked the Ministry of Manpower to prepare regulations related to protection and social security for partnership-based workers," said Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida to reporters after a working meeting with Commission IX of the DPR RI in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 26, was confiscated by Antara.

"This includes giving THR to online motorcycle taxi drivers," he continued.

Ida said the Ministry of Manpower had initiated a draft Minister of Manpower regulation related to protecting workers outside of employment on application-based transportation services.

His party has discussed with relevant ministries and institutions including the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, the Office of the Presidential Staff and the Ministry of State Secretariat.

Discussions in the form of Focus Group Discussion (FGD) have also been carried out to absorb aspirations from various online transportation and courier worker unions, application companies and academics.

"From these studies, from the input in the FGD, we still need to do further investigation regarding employment status for ojol and online couriers," said Ida.

Regarding when the rules will come out, Ida said it would not be realized this year.

Regarding this THR for online transportation workers, this year's nature is an appeal with the type and mechanism of giving it to each application company.
