PDIP Reminds Golkar Not To Maneuvering To Take Chairs Of The Speaker Of The DPR

PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto spoke about the issue that said the Golkar Party had the opportunity to occupy the chair of the chairman of the DPR after the 2024 General Election.

According to Hasto, all political parties, including the Golkar Party, must build a good political culture by referring to the norms and the prevailing rule of law.

"Well, the friend from Golkar must learn from 2014 because he should be in the political norms we hold, there is no law related to the election results and then amended after the election takes place," he said.

Hasto emphasized that Law Number 2 of 2018 concerning the MPR, DPR and DPD, and DPRD (MD3) have regulated that the seat of chairman of the DPR is determined from the most seats for political parties in the DPR.

So far, he said, PDIP has won in the 2024 General Election and the PDIP cadre will automatically fill the chair. "The chairman of the DPR is a symbol of people's trust in the election-winning party," he said.

Furthermore, Hasto reminded, the ambition of power with all efforts to win the chair of the chairman of the DPR will actually cause social conflict. Moreover, using legal instruments by changing the rules of the MD3 Law.

Recently, a number of Golkar Party elites have responded to the issue of the chairmanship of the DPR. The chairman of the Golkar Party DPP, Ace Hasan Syadzily, said that Golkar's chances of getting the position of chairman of the DPR were still quite large.

He admitted that currently the seat acquisition is still below the PDIP, but the potential for additional seats is still open because a number of legislative candidates are gathering evidence to apply for PHPU in the Constitutional Court. He emphasized that the Golkar Party will follow the rules of the game that have been regulated in the MD3 Law.
