LPD Warship Ready To Transport Homecomers To Semarang And Surabaya

JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Army (TNI) of the Navy has prepared an LPD-type warship to transport travelers to Semarang and Surabaya during the 57 April 2024 homecoming and backflow to Semarang and Jakarta on April 13, 2024.

The Commander of the Fleet Command (Pangkoarmada) Vice Admiral TNI Denih Hendrata explained that the warship would also transport travelers riding motorbikes to their hometowns with a quota of 500 motorbikes.

"The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (Kasal) has prepared an LPD (landing platform dock) type ship that departs from Jakarta to Semarang, then Surabaya, and vice versa, returns from Surabaya to Semarang and then Jakarta. travelers who use motorbikes are free," said Denih during a press conference after the handover of the position of Commander of Fleet I Command reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 25.

The ship can carry about 500 motorcycles. However, the number of passengers can be more than that. The warship, he said, had not been able to carry an electric motor.

Denih explained that homecoming transportation using warships is an initiative of the Indonesian Navy to help the Government meet the transportation needs of travelers during the homecoming flow and backflow for the 2024 Eid holiday.

So far, he continued, the route is still limited to big cities on the island of Java. In principle, the Indonesian Navy is ready to help on other routes if there is a request for homecoming transportation from the Ministry of Transportation.

"If there is no monitoring, it means that transportation facilities have been met from the Ministry of Transportation," said Laksdya Denih.

Some of the requirements that travelers need to prepare, namely handing over photocopies of KTP candidates for travelers, photocopy ofSTNK and BPKB, as well as letters accompanied by signatures willing to comply with official regulations in the KRI.
