Gibran: Pak Prabowo Determines Cabinet Arrangement, Maybe President Jokowi Gives Input

JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka's candidate said Prabowo Subianto's presidential candidate would determine the composition of his government's cabinet, while the 7th President Joko Widodo would provide input.

"Pak Prabowo will decide, yes. Maybe (President Jokowi gave) input, but the decision is in Pak Prabowo, yes," said Gibran as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 25.

Although Prabowo's composition of the cabinet is determined, he admits that he will also be involved in talks to discuss the next government.

Gibran said the conversation had already started. "It must have been (involved). It's been a long time since yesterday. It's been discussed since yesterday," he added.

Nevertheless, Gibran was reluctant to reveal the extent of the discussion regarding the preparation of the cabinet. He stated that it was possible that a political party from the rival camp would be invited to join the upcoming cabinet.

"It could be (a rival party joining)," he said abbrevially.

The KPU on Wednesday (20/3) night, named Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the elected candidate pair in the 2024 General Election with a total of 96,214,691 votes.

Meanwhile, the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair received 40,971,906 votes, while the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. pair got 27,040,878 votes.

The determination is contained in KPU Decree Number 360 of 2024 concerning the Determination of the General Election Results of the President and Vice President, Members of the House of Representatives, Regional Representative Council, Provincial Regional House of Representatives, and National Regional House of Representatives/City in the General Election in 2024.

On the other hand, Prabowo-Gibran's rival grave has registered a lawsuit on the election results with the Constitutional Court (MK).

The application submitted by the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair as the applicant was registered with registration number 1/PHPU.PRES-XXII/2024, while the application for Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md as the applicant was registered with registration number 2/PHPU.PRES-XXII/2024.
