Macron Surprised Putin Accuses Ukraine Of Being Involved In The Focus City Hall Attack: Sinis And Counterproductive

French President Emmanuel Macron was surprised by President Vladimir Putin's statement about the alleged involvement in Ukraine over the attack on the Crocodile City Hall, Moscow despite ISIS already claiming to be the mastermind.

Macron said Russia's actions would be "sinist and counterproductive".

"This attack was claimed by ISIS and the information available to us, our intelligence agency, and our main partners, did show that it was ISIS that triggered this attack," Macron said.

I think it would be cynical and counterproductive to Russia itself and the security of its citizens if it used this context to try to turn it against Ukraine.

The United States previously believed ISIS was the mastermind behind the brutal shooting attacks and explosions at the concert building before the Picnic band took the stage.

But President Vladimir Putin has not publicly mentioned the Islamist militant group is linked to the attackers, which he said he was trying to flee to Ukraine.

Putin said several people in Ukraine were ready to dispel gunmen across the border. Ukraine denied involvement in the attack and President Volodymyr Zelenskiy accused Putin of trying to divert the blame for the concert building attack by referring to Ukraine.

A spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, questioned the US statement about ISIS behind the attack.

"A question to the White House: Are you sure it's ISIS? Can you think about it again?" Zakharova said in an article for the Komsomolskaya newspaper Pravda quoted by Reuters;
