KPK Checks 4 ASN Ministry Of Transportation Searches DJKA Bribes

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned four state civil servants (ASN) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) and a staff of the Central Java Railway Engineering Center (Central Java) of the Ministry of Transportation as witnesses in the alleged bribery case at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation today.

"Today at the KPK's Red and White Building, the investigative team has scheduled the summons and examination of further witnesses to develop the investigation into the alleged bribery case of DJKA at the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation with 2 ASN suspects," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri when confirmed in Jakarta, Monday, March 25, confiscated by Antara.

Ali explained that the four ASN of the Ministry of Transportation Edy Purnomo, Risna, Budi Prasetyo and Hardono, as well as one staff of the Central Java Railway Engineering Center of the Ministry of Transportation Wildan Yoko.

However, Ali has not provided further information regarding whether the witnesses have been present to fulfill the summons of KPK investigators or regarding what materials will be investigated in the examination of these witnesses.

KPK investigators on Monday announced that they had named two new suspects in the alleged bribery corruption case at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation.

The two new suspects have the status of state civil servants from the Ministry of Transportation and the Supreme Audit Agency of the Republic of Indonesia.

"Yes, that's right, the two ASNs came from the Ministry of Transportation and the BPK RI," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri when confirmed in Jakarta, Monday.

However, Ali has not provided further information regarding who the parties have been named as suspects in the DJKA corruption, including his role in the case.

The KPK will later officially announce who the parties have been named as suspects in the DJKA corruption along with the construction of the case and the articles suspected in the detention press conference.

Ali explained that the determination of the new suspect in the DJKA corruption was carried out based on the findings of legal facts in the trial of one of the convicts in the case.

Previously, investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on April 11, 2023 conducted a hand arrest operation (OTT) related to allegations of corruption at the Class I Railway Engineering Center for the Central Java Region of the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation.

The KPK then named 10 suspects who were immediately detained in connection with the alleged corruption case of the construction and repair of railroads in Java, Sumatra, and Sulawesi.

The suspects consisted of four parties suspected of giving bribes, namely the Director of PT IPA (Istana Putra Agung) Dion Renato Sugiarto (DRS), Director of PT DF (Dwifarita Fajarkharisma) Muchamad Hikmat (MUH), Director of PT KA Management Properti until February 2023 Yoseph Ibrahim (YOS), VP of PT KA Management Properti Parjono (PAR), and Director of PT Bhakti Karya Utama Asta Danika (AD).

Six other suspects were suspected of receiving bribes, namely the Director of Railway Infrastructure Harno Trimadi (HNO), Head of the Central Java Railway Engineering Center (BTP) Putu Sumarjaya, commitment maker (PPK) BTP Central Java Bernard Hasibuan (BEN), PPK BPKA South Sulawesi Achmad Affandi (AFF), PPK Fadliansyah Railway Infrastructure (FAD), and PPK BTP West Java Synto Pirjani Hutabarat (SYN).

The range of bribes received is around 5-10 percent of the project value with an estimated bribery value received by the six suspects reaching around Rp. 14.5 billion.

The trial of the corruption case was currently underway at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) at the Semarang District Court.

Head of the Central Java Railway Engineering Center (BTP) Putu Sumarjaya was sentenced to 5 years in prison in the alleged bribery case originating from the contractor implementing three projects at the Directorate General of Railways in the Central Java region.

The sentence read by Chief Judge Gatot Sarwadi during a trial at the Semarang Corruption Court, Thursday (18/1), was recorded as lower than the prosecutor's demand for 8 years.

In addition to the corporal punishment, the defendant was also sentenced to pay a fine of Rp. 350 million which if not paid will be replaced with imprisonment for 4 months.
