Landslides Near Bogor Palace, 2 Residents Buried And 1 Found Dead

BOGOR - Two residents were buried in a landslide that occurred in Lebak Kantin Village, not far from Bogor Palace, Bogor City, Sunday, March 24 evening. One victim has been found dead, while one other victim is still being searched by the SAR team.

Of the two landslide victims who were buried, one of them was successfully evacuated at around 23.40 WIB in a state of death. Meanwhile, one other victim as of 00.30 WIB is still in the process of being searched by the Bogor City BPBD, the Bogor City Fire and Rescue Service, Tagana, PMI, TNI-Polri and other potential SAR elements.

Deputy Mayor of Bogor, Dedie A. Rachim went to the disaster site at around 00.10 WIB and immediately saw the search for victims buried in buildings from landslide events. In addition to seeing and ensuring that the evacuation was carried out optimally, Dedie also had a small meeting for mapping.

"So we'll see what the situation is like now, it's dark, we can't judge, maybe tomorrow we can carry out the assessment process to make sure whether the residents are safe or should be moved," he said.

So far, continued Dedie, his party has held discussions with regional apparatus organizations (OPD) regarding problems that occur due to natural disasters.

"So in the future we have to implement a massive program to clean water channels, then also drainage including rivers and rivers. And most importantly, no more people throw garbage into the reservoir, rivers, and drainage so that there are no obstacles," he said.

Dedie also said that Bogor City was hit by heavy rain with an intensity of 120 millimeters. This is a global warming phenomenon that has caused tremendous hot weather in the last few days after heavy rain for days.

After experiencing hot weather, from Sunday afternoon until midnight, the city of Bogor was hit by rain accompanied by wind. Until 00.20 WIB from reports that entered the temporary data stated that there were 18 disaster points in Bogor City.

"There was a flood of routes, there was a landslide, then also a collapsed TPT and a fallen tree. And one of the victims who claimed lives was located in Lebak Kantin RT 02 RW 07, Sempur Village, Bogor City. The search and evacuation process has been carried out for two residents," he said.
