JAKARTA - Russia and China vetoed the UN Security Council (DK) resolution draft designed by the US, which it deemed not explicitly demanding a ceasefire in Gaza.
Eleven UN DK members supported the resolution, three rejected and one abstained.
As reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Friday, March 22, the draft "expressed the importance of an immediate and sustainable ceasefire" but did not explicitly demand it.
The draft also "supports firmly the ongoing international diplomatic efforts" to ensure a ceasefire that allows the release of all citizens who are still held hostage.
