Yusril Prepares 35 Advocates To Face Prabowo-Gibran's Victory Lawsuit At The Constitutional Court

JAKARTA - Member of the Steering Committee of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) as well as Chairman of the Crescent Star Party (PBB), Yusril Ihza Mahendra laughed when he heard the news of the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar national team preparing 1,000 advocates to challenge the results of the 2024 presidential election at the Constitutional Court (MK).

According to Yusril, thousands of lawyers cannot be presented in the trial of the Constitutional Court's lawsuit. Because the number is too much.

"If 1,000 doesn't fit at the Constitutional Court trial, there are too many," said Yusril, laughing at Prabowo Subianto's residence, Jalan Kertanegara, South Jakarta, Wednesday, March 20, evening.

The constitutional law expert then compared it with his party who only prepared 35 advocates. He explained that the 35 advocates could not all enter the Court courtroom.

Because, continued Yusril, the Constitutional Court limits the number of advocates who are allowed to enter the courtroom to represent their clients. Therefore, members of the Prabowo-Gibran defense team will be represented by the chairman and secretary as well as several members who will take turns in the trial later.

"But we have prepared everything by our own team, prepared lodging places for advocates, pick-up buses and others, we have prepared everything," he said.

Yusril ensured that the Prabowo-Gibran defense team he chaired was ready to work and wait for the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 1 and 3, Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Mahfud to file a dispute over the results of the general election (PHPU) to the Constitutional Court simultaneously, or separately, or not sue at all. Because according to him, the Prabowo-Gibran pair is in the position of winner in the 2024 presidential election.

"We are waiting. If there is a dispute filed by the two other candidate pairs, we will submit an application to the Constitutional Court to be accepted as a related party in the case," said the former Minister of Law and Human Rights.

"If they don't file a lawsuit, we'll just be silent. That means it's final (the KPU's decision regarding the results of the 2024 presidential election)," he continued.

Yusril said the KPU might determine the official results of the 2024 General Election tonight. That way, the 01 and 03 camps have until March 23 to file a lawsuit with the Constitutional Court.

It is known that the KPU will determine the results of the 2024 General Election nationally in the form of a KPU decree on Wednesday night. Although it has not been determined, the Indonesian KPU has actually approved the results of the recapitulation of votes from 38 provinces.

As a result, Prabowo-Gibran won in all provinces, except in Aceh and West Sumatra. In the two provinces the winner was the Anies-Muhaimin pair. The Ganjar-Mahfud pair is keok in all provinces.

Based on data from the 38 provinces that were accumulated by the media crew, the Prabowo-Gibran pair recorded the most votes, namely 96.3 million votes. Anies-Imin won 40.9 million votes, while Ganjar-Mahfud won 27 million votes.

If percentageed, then Prabowo-Gibran won 58.6 percent of the total votes legal, Anies-Imin 24.9 percent, and Ganjar-Mahfud 16.4 percent.
