Regarding The Implementing Rules Target For The 2024 TPKS Law, KemenPPPA: Still In The Harmonization Stage

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) continues to oversee the completion of the implementing regulations of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning the Crime of Sexual Violence (TPKS Law) which is targeted for completion this year.

"There are a number of regulations that are still in the harmonization stage and continue to be encouraged and guarded so that they are completed immediately," said Deputy for Child Special Protection at the Ministry of PPPA Nahar in a statement, in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 19, which was confiscated by Antara.

Nahar said that his party together with a number of Ministries/Institutions never stopped to complete these policies.

Currently, there is one Presidential Decree that has been promulgated in the State Sheet, then three of the other six regulations have entered the stage of waiting for the approval of the relevant ministers, and the rest are still in the harmonization stage.

"One of the seven regulations implementing the TPKS Law, namely the Presidential Regulation on the Implementation of Education and Training for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence has been signed by the President and promulgated in the 2024 State Gazette Number 14 on January 23, 2024. We hope that other draft regulations will follow soon," said Nahar.

In detail, the Draft Presidential Regulation (RPerpres) concerning the Technical Implementation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children (UPTD PPA) is waiting for initials from the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture with other ministerial positions having given initial approval.

For the RPerpres on the Implementation of Integrated Services in Handling, Protection, and Recovery at the Center, a request for initial approval from the Ministry of State Secretariat is being made.

For the RPP on Coordination and Monitoring of the Implementation of Prevention and Handling of Victims of Violence, the process of applying for initial approval to the relevant ministers is in progress.

The RPP on the Prevention of Criminal Acts of Sexual Violence and Handling, Protection, and Recovery of TPKS Victims is still in the harmonization stage (legal drafting).

For the RPerpres on the National Policy for the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Sexual Violence, the KemenPPPA is currently in the stage of improving the substance by the Ministry of PPPA from the results of the clarification of the Ministry of State Secretariat.

Meanwhile, the RPP regarding the Assistance Fund for Victims of Sexual Violence is in the stage of applying for harmonization.
