Company Boss In North Jakarta Obscures 2 Employees, But It's Miras To Blame

JAKARTA - The influence of liquor (miras) was claimed by a capital company boss in North Jakarta who allegedly harassed two female employees in his office.

"At that time my position was half drunk, sir. Yes (the victim) refused," said the suspect when answering questions from the Deputy Chief of Police for North Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Nasriadi, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 2.

The perpetrator with the initials JH (47) is the younger brother of the owner of the company where the two victims of sexual harassment worked.

While the first victim was DF (25). DF was sexually assaulted by the perpetrator after being transferred to JH's Personal Secretary in September 2020. Previously, DF worked in another part of the company.

While the second victim was EF (23) who entered as a personal secretary around September 2020 and received the same treatment in October 2020.

Victims of DF and EF finally realized that they had both been sexually harassed by the suspect JH after EF suddenly wanted to resign from the company.

"The last victim, EF's sister, then stated to her colleague DF that she wanted to resign. Well, that's where it opens up what has happened so far," said Nasriadi.

Both of them then both resigned from the company in October 2020 and DF reported their case to North Jakarta Metro Police officers.

The North Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit, the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA), also moved to investigate, investigate and arrest the perpetrators at their office on February 8, 2021.

"We have handled (the victim's report) and we have detained the suspect to be accountable for his actions," said Nasriadi.

The police will also continue to investigate whether there are other victims of sexual harassment by the suspect.

The suspect caught in Article 289 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) carries a sentence of nine years in prison.
