Hasto PDIP: Harun Masiku's Case Efforts To Target Me

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto spoke up about the Harun Masiku case handled by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). He said that he was deliberately associated with the fugitive for the alleged bribery when criticizing several things such as the 2024 election fraud. It is known that Harun Masiku, who was the briber of the former General Election Commission (KPU) Commissioner, is still at large to date. He is a former PDIP candidate in the 2019 Legislative Election (Pileg). "The Harun Masiku case is an attempt to find my weaknesses as secretary general and in an effort to use legal instruments to target me," said Hasto in a special program interview broadcast on the Liputan6 YouTube account quoted on Monday, March 18. Hasto asserted that he had never had any connection with Harun Masiku. He stated that he had never testified in court about this. "And no facts were found relating to me," he stressed. "But now it's music when I question election fraud, when I criticize Mr. Jokowi, criticizing the party together with one carriage supports Mr. Prabowo and Gibran suddenly appeared Harun Masiku as if it was related to me even though it was not related to me," continued the former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives. Furthermore, Hasto called Harun Masiku actually as a victim. According to him, the former unidentified candidate was actually entitled to a seat in parliament in accordance with the decision of the Supreme Court (MA) because there was a elected candidate who died. It's just that in the process there were people who asked for reward. "That's why he (Harun Masiku, ed) was tempted to be categorized as a bribe," he said.

As previously reported, Harun is a suspect in giving bribes to former KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan. This gift was given so that he can sit as a member of the DPR through the interim replacement (PAW). He has been on the wanted list (DPO) since January 29, 2020. Most recently, the KPK informed the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol Indonesia that it had issued a red notice on behalf of Harun Masiku on Friday, July 30, 2023.
