Bandung City DPRD asked the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) to speed up the process of appointing the Daily Executive (Plh) Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bandung City.

According to Bandung City DPRD Chairman Tedy Rusmawan, the position has a very important role in the government structure.

"We encourage immediate filling by the Acting Mayor of Bandung because the position of Regional Secretary is strategic and the process is quite long," said Tedy in Bandung, Friday, March 15, quoted by Antara.

Nevertheless, Tedy admitted that until now he is still communicating with the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, regarding the running of various city government activities.

"Ordinary communication, yesterday I also took part in the zoom meeting of Kampung KB and continued to run. The coordination meeting with the Ministry of Home Affairs after the election, and other activities are still ongoing," he said.

He hopes that the Acting Mayor will be able to take strategic steps so that the vacant seats do not hinder the Bandung City bureaucracy.

"Mr. Acting (Bambang) must have taken steps, hopefully it can be completed soon. Yes, I hope Mr. Acting takes strategic steps," he said.

Previously, the Head of the Bandung City Information and Communication Office, Yayan A. Brilyana announced that Ema Sumarna had resigned as Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bandung City on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

Yayan revealed that the Acting (Pj) Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, had positioned the Head of the Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) Adi Junjunan Mustafa to immediately process it according to the procedure.

"Mr. Ema has indeed resigned since last Wednesday. The Acting Mayor also knows about it," said Yayan.

The Regional Secretary of Bandung City, Ema Sumarna, has resigned after being named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Wednesday, March 13.
