Vice President's Message To Muslims In Ramadan: Control The Eve Of Lust

Vice President Ma'ruf Amin invited Muslims (Muslims) to control their lust in the holy month of Ramadan, when delivering the tausiah of Ramadan 1445 Hijri at the Al-Uswah Mosque in Tanjungpinang City, Riau Islands (Kepri).

"The biggest enemy is the lust in yourself," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin in his tausiah in front of the Al-Uswah Mosque congregation as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, March 14.

According to him, the momentum of the month of Ramadan teaches Muslims to be able to control lust.

He said the most difficult lust during Ramadan was eating and drinking, because people are used to eating and drinking every day.

In the month of Ramadan, he said, Muslims are ordered to fast or refrain from eating and drinking during the day for one full month, from dawn to sunset.

In addition, Muslims are also asked to control themselves from having sex with their husbands while fasting.

"This month of Ramadan trains us so that we can control our lust, because humans are weak and easily carried away by lust. Lust can also lead a person to evil," he said.

Then, continued the Vice President, fasting helps train a person's patience, for example even though there is 1 minute left of breaking the fast, but still wait until the breaking schedule arrives.

The Vice President also said that fasting also has wisdom, both for oneself and social life.

"Fasting is the Shari'a that Allah has ordered to His servants SWT. Shari'a is wisdom, justice, affection and brings benefit to humans," said the Vice President.

At the Al-Uswah Tanjungpinang Mosque, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin performed the congregational Isha and Tarawih prayers. He was accompanied by the Governor of Riau Islands Ansar Ahmad and a number of forkopimda elements.

During his working visit to Tanjungpinang, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin will carry out several agendas, including opening the 2024 Riau Islands Ramadan Fair (KURMA) at the Sirih Tugu Tanjungpinang, Friday (15/3).
