Kapolda: South Kalimantan Has Completed All Election Stages In Peace

BANJARMASIN - South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General of Police Winarto stated that his area had completed all stages of the 2024 General Election peacefully without any disturbances in security or prominent incidents that interfered with the democratic party.

"Alhamdulillah, the series of elections has been closed with a plenary meeting to calculate the provincial-level vote acquisition," said the Kapolda in Banjarmasin, Tuesday.

Winarto appreciated the performance of the General Elections Commission (KPU) as the organizer of the general election and Bawaslu as the supervisor who had carried out the election smoothly.

"Including the ranks of ad hoc agency officers who became the spearhead of voting and counting votes at the polling station so that the D day of the election on February 14, 2024, can run according to the agenda," he said.

The Kapolda emphasized that there were no significant incidents during the election stages in South Kalimantan until after the voting the situation was maintained safe and cool.

Likewise, in the process of recapitulating the results of the count of votes in stages, starting at the village level to the district and ending in the province, everything was carried out smoothly.

"The synergy of all elements helping the KPU and Bawaslu has succeeded in realizing safe, peaceful and smooth elections," he said.

In the recapitulation of the results of the provincial-level vote acquisition, the South Kalimantan KPU has determined the pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates serial number Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka to excel with 1,407,684 votes (58 percent) from the other two pairs of candidates.

As for the election of members of the South Kalimantan Provincial DPRD for the period 2024-2029, the Golkar Party contributed the most representatives of the people with 13 seats out of 55 seats available.

Meanwhile, for the Indonesian House of Representatives, representatives from the two electoral districts in South Kalimantan who walked to Senayan were won by the Golkar Party and PAN with each obtaining three seats out of a total of 11 seats.
