Findings From Safety Operations 2024: Frequent Violations By Drivers Revealed

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya noted several rules that are often violated by motorists. Based on the provisional results of Operation Keselamatan 2024, motorists often fight the flow while many car drivers do not use safety belts.

"For two-wheeled riders who do not wear helmets, there are 1,050 violators and other violations such as against the Flow of 1,956 violators," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi as quoted on Monday, March 11.

Meanwhile, for four-wheeled drivers or cars, the most frequent violations are not wearing seat belts. The number reached 4,223 violators.

"The 431 street headband violators, did not wear a 4.223 seat belt, used a cellphone while driving 62 violators, and exceeded the speed limit of 69 violators," he said.

The data is the result of the prosecution of the 2024 Safety Operation which has been going on for six days. When calculated as a whole, the number of violations reached 7,791.

"There are 7791 violators who have been prosecuted using a system of prosecution through static and mobile ETLE, not only that, the Operation Keselamatan Jaya 2024 officers in the field also gave a Simpatic warning to 11,153 violators," he said.

Meanwhile, the Jaya 2024 Safety Operation was held for 14 days, starting from March 4 to 17, 2024.

In these activities, there are 11 types of violations that will be dealt with in the operation.

First, a violation in the form of driving while using a cellphone. Then, underage riders ride more than one person, motorists do not wear SNI helmets and car drivers do not wear safety belts or safety belts.

Then, violations in the form of going against the current, exceeding the speed limit, containing more than vehicle capacity, Brong exhaust motorbikes, using strobos in inappropriate vehicles, and the use of special or confidential number plates.
