DKI Wants To Sell PT Delta's Alcoholic Shares, Unfortunately, Blocked By DPRD

JAKARTA - The issue of share ownership in a liquor producer company (alcohol) DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has sticking out.

This was motivated by President Jokowi's decision to open investment in alcoholic companies in several provinces.

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, admitted that his party had always been trying to sell shares of beer in PT Delta Djakarta Tbk. Delta is a producer of beer from the Anker, Carlsberg, to San Miguel brands.

"We are working on delta shares. We will sell them back because it is part of the vision and mission of Anies-Sandi's campaign promise (during the 2017 DKI Gubernatorial Election)", said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday, March 1.

Unfortunately, Riza admits that DKI cannot make its own decision to sell the alcoholic beverage shares. According to Riza, the plan to sell shares has not received approval from the DKI DPRD (Regional House of Representatives).

"We continue to propose and ask for support from friends of the DKI Jakarta DPRD. In principle, the executive has agreed to sell the shares to the public. However, it must get DPRD approval. We are waiting for a response from DPRD", explained Riza.

For information, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has owned shares of alcoholic companies since the era of DKI Governor Ali Sadikin. Until now, the number of shares of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has remained the same since 2015, namely 26.25% or 210,200,700.

In fact, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has applied for approval for the sale of PT Delta Djakarta shares several times to the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD.

Among them is the Letter of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Province Number 479/-1.822 dated May 16, 2018, concerning Application for Approval of the Sale of Shares of PT Delta Djakarta, Tbk; Letter of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Province Number 91/-1.822 concerning Application for Approval of the Sale of Shares of PT Delta Djakarta, Tbk; and Letter of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Province Number 177/-1.822 regarding Application for Approval of the Sale of Shares of PT Delta Djakarta, Tbk.

Unfortunately, the wish to relinquish the share ownership of PT Delta Djakarta has yet to materialize.
