Constitutional Court Judges And MKMK Hold A Meeting Ahead Of The Election Dispute Lawsuit

JAKARTA - Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Suhartoyo said that the judges of the Constitutional Court and the Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK) reminded each other about their respective duties and functions in a limited meeting on Tuesday.

"He is a member of the MKMK or the MKMK assembly so that we always maintain dignity, dignity and dignity," Suhartoyo said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 7.

Suhartoyo said, members of the Constitutional Court reminded constitutional judges to always maintain the dignity, dignity and dignity of the institution. On the other hand, he said, the Constitutional Court judge also reminded the Constitutional Court regarding its duties and functions as supervisors of judges.

"We also remind him (MKMK) not to get bored watching us, right," said Suhartoyo.

The Constitutional Court and constitutional judges held a limited meeting on Tuesday (5/3) in order to strengthen their respective duties and functions.

"The meeting between Constitutional Justices and MKMK was initiated to strengthen the functions and duties of each, both the MKMK and the constitutional judges," said Chief Justice of the MKMK I Dewa Gede Palguna.

Palguna said that the MKMK, which has the task of maintaining the code of ethics and upholding the honors of constitutional judges, felt the need to exchange ideas and views near the time of the big duties of the constitutional judges in 2024.

Moreover, the judges are also preparing to face the handling of the Presidential and Vice Presidential Election Result Dispute (PHPU) case as well as the 2024 Legislative Member Election.

"As the Constitutional Court in its duty to maintain and uphold the honor and code of ethics of judges, it is necessary for the Constitutional Court to harmonize this task. In addition, in the future, constitutional judges will face the handling of the 2024 PHPU case," he said.

It is known that the permanent MKMK has three members consisting of one constitutional judge, one community leader, and one academic who has a legal background.

The members are Constitutional Justice Ridwan Mansyur representing from active constitutional judges, I Dewa Gede Palguna representing community leaders, and Yuliandri who is an academic from Andalas University who represents academics with a legal background.

The permanent MKMK has a one-year working period, starting from January 8, 2023 to December 31, 2024 with the authority contained in Article 3 of the Constitutional Court Regulation Number 1 of 2023 concerning the MKMK.
