JAKARTA - The 10th and 12th Vice Presidents Jusuf Kalla responded to a statement by PDIP DPR faction member Aria Bima who said that the right of inquiry to be filed could not cancel the results of the 2024 General Election.

According to JK, the right of inquiry cannot cancel the results of the votes. However, the right of inquiry can be used to ask the government to clarify transparently the issue of electoralism.

"Indeed, the right of inquiry is asking questions, investigating the government. Regarding the election to the Constitutional Court," said JK at the Kalla Group office, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Wednesday, March 6.

JK confirmed that the right of inquiry mechanism, when it was proposed, would go through a long process.

Starting from determining the continuation of the right of inquiry from the voting of members of the DPR RI at the plenary meeting, it was continued by summoning a number of relevant officials to ask for information, to giving recommendations from the DPR on the results of tracing the right of inquiry.

"We'll see the process later, don't hesitate yet, it's okay to hesitate," said JK.

Previously, Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the DPR Aria Bima emphasized that PDIP would propose the right of inquiry in investigating allegations of fraud in the 2024 General Election.

However, Aria Bima emphasized that the right of inquiry was not intended to cancel the election results, nor to impeach President Joko Widodo.

"So maybe the inquiry has nothing to do with the cancellation of the election, the inquiry has nothing to do with impeachment," said Aria Bima at the Parliament Complex, Tuesday, March 5.

PDIP, according to Aria Bima, only wants to reveal the reality of holding the election. One of the highlights is the alleged misuse of social assistance to increase the support of one of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates.

"We just want to know whether social assistance has an electoral impact or is it used for electoral purposes?" he said.

"Is it true that the Ministry of Home Affairs has an order from the Acting Governor, Acting Regent, to the village head for the electoral sector. Is there really pressure from the Sector Police Chief to the village head. That's all. And the government can answer well," he continued.
