The mediator team from several countries along with the Israeli and Hamas delegations is expected to arrive in Cairo on Sunday, March 3. This meeting was held to find a midpoint and a permanent ceasefire could be realized.

The meeting to find a middle ground for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict to be held in Cairo is the second negotiations after the first in November 2023. United States President Joe Biden said an agreement between the two countries would soon take place in the near future.

Biden hopes the ceasefire between Israel and Palestine will take place before the fasting month which is scheduled to begin on March 10. A senior US official said on Saturday that the framework for the six-week break in combat was already there, with Israeli approval, and now relies on Hamas' approval to release the hostages they have detained in Gaza since its attack on southern Israel on October 7.

According to Egyptian security sources as reported by Reuters, Biden and world leaders are under great pressure to ease the suffering of Palestinians who are increasingly desperate after five months of war and the Israeli blockade in Gaza. Gaza's condition is said by the United Nations, a quarter of Gaza's population, 576,000 people are one step towards starvation.
