SENTANI - Cartenz Safety Operation 2024 will take place from 4-17 March 2024. Operation 11 today was held by the Jayapura Resort Police (Polres).

"The operation involved members of Koramil 1701-01 Sentani and Polres Jayapura marked by an troop deployment on Saturday (2/3) 2024," said Jayapura Police Chief AKBP Fredrickus WA Maclarimboen in a release in Sentani, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, March 2.

He said the theme carried by traffic safety was to make Indonesia progress.

"This centralized operation was carried out by the National Police throughout Indonesia, including the Jayapura Police, to create conditions in welcoming the celebration of the holy month of Ramadan," he said.

According to the police chief, the Cartenz 2024 safety operation will start Monday (4) to Sunday 17 March 2024 or 14 days, involving 23 Jayapura Police personnel.

"We hope that this operation can be carried out by prioritizing preemptive and preventive activities to increase public participants who are safe, comfortable and calm," he said.

He explained that the Cartenz safety operation was to increase community compliance in traffic to create Kamseltibcar and minimize the number of violations and traffic accidents.

"There are seven priority targets in the Cartenz 2024 safety operation, including riding more than one person, exceeding speed and going against the flow, motorized vehicle drivers who are still underage, two-wheeled riders who do not wear SNI helmets, four-wheeled riders who do not use a safety belt, drivers who use cell phones while driving and drivers are under the influence of alcohol," he said.

He added that the public must obey all the rules given to discipline the community in driving on the highway.
