Jordanian Army Salurkan Humanitarian Aid In Gaza By Falling From Plane

JAKARTA - Jordanian soldiers sent three food aids that were dropped from the air in northern Gaza.

"The Jordanian Armed Forces brought down three food aids in several areas in northern Gaza," the military said in a statement quoted by ANTARA from Anadolu, Friday, March 1.

The air aid was carried out "in the framework of Jordan's efforts to support the people in the Gaza Strip and increase their resilience amid Israel's ongoing escalation," the statement added.

They also stressed the move was part of " Jordan's ongoing efforts to deliver more medical, medical, and food assistance to the people of the Gaza Strip."

"This operation aims to reduce the impact of war and compensate for the shortage of food and medicine due to continued Israeli aggression in the enclave," he said.

On Thursday (29/2), Jordanian soldiers also said they made two deliveries of aid and food to the Gaza Strip, collaborating with Oman and Bahrain.

Israel has launched a deadly military offensive in the Gaza Strip since the October 7, 2023 attack by the Palestinian Hamas group, which Tel Aviv says killed nearly 1,200 people.

It was recorded that 30,228 Palestinians had died and 71,377 others were injured amid mass destruction and shortages of basic necessities.

Israel has also imposed a blockade that has paralyzed the Gaza Strip, which has left its residents, especially residents of northern Gaza, on the verge of starvation.

The Israeli war has forced 85 percent of Gaza's population to flee amid food shortages, clean water, and medicines, while 60 percent of infrastructure in the region has been damaged or destroyed, according to the United Nations.

Israel is accused of committing genocide in the International Court. A provisional decision in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop genocide and take steps to ensure that humanitarian aid was provided to civilians in Gaza.
