In Anies' Eyes, There Are Ethics Problems When The Prabowo-Gibran Program Is Discussed By The Government Before The Determination Of The Results Of The Presidential Election

Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan spoke about ethics when responding to the government which began discussing the presidential and vice presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka program before the KPU announced the results of the 2024 presidential election vote.

According to Anies, the government's enthusiasm to harmonize the program of the next candidate for leader of the country is basically a good thing.

However, the former Governor of DKI Jakarta assessed that it was not yet time for the presidential and vice-presidential candidates program to be accommodated as long as election organizers were still processing the vote count until the determination of the election dispute results at the Constitutional Court (MK).

"So the government wants good accommodation. So the question is when did the accommodation start? The accommodation started after the general election organizers decided legally for A, the B, the C as the winner," said Anies in the Tanjung Priok area, North Jakarta, Friday, March 1.

"Well, after that the government based on the decision of the election organizers to call the winner, ask what the program is, what should be included in the RAPBN, now that's good. But if there is no decision and it has started, there will be another ethical issue here," Anies continued.

On that basis, Anies emphasized that the government's legal basis was starting to consider a free lunch program to be included in the draft APBN during the cabinet meeting at the State Palace.

"So what if you ask, what is the legal basis for holding a meeting to discuss programs? The legal basis is the final decision. But if there is no legal basis, it becomes a question what is the legal basis? The spirit is good, but it must have a legal basis because the state works according to the rule of law, not using taste," said Anies.

It is known, President Joko Widodo discussed the Government Work Plan (RKP) 2025, including the free lunch program for presidential and vice president candidates Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the plenary cabinet meeting at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday 26 February.

"Earlier discussed the RKP, this is just an initial meeting. Discussing Prabowo's priority programs, including early lunch (free)," said Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday, February 26.

However, Jokowi recently denied the discussion of the free lunch and milk program at the plenary cabinet session.

"Nothing, nothing. Only in the plenary cabinet meeting I convey that the elected presidential programs must have been included in the 2025 budget plan," said Jokowi.
