The police shot two perpetrators of the persecution in the leg that killed a young man on Jalan Kartini II, Semarang City, Central Java.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Semarang Polrestabes Kompol Andika Dharma Sena said, GYP (20) a resident of North Semarang and MDR (18) a resident of Pedurungan, Semarang City, had moved cities to avoid being chased by officers.

The incident that killed the victim named Ilham (23) was triggered by a dispute with the two perpetrators.

"The victim and the two perpetrators are actually friends, but there are disputes," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, February 29.

According to him, the victim died from a sharp weapon stab wound and was run over by the perpetrator on a motorbike.

Sena explained that the two perpetrators were recidivists in cases of criminal acts of persecution.

In fact, he continued, the suspect MDR was a convict who escaped while serving his sentence at the Marsudi Putra Social Institution (PSMP) Antasena in Magelang.

"This suspect fled while serving his sentence in Anatasena. At that time he was still a minor," he said.

For their actions, the two suspects were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code concerning persecution.
