TNI Will Build 22 New Kodams, Including In IKN

JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Army (TNI) will have a total of 37 Military Regional Commands (Kodam) throughout Indonesia. So it is planned that there will be an addition of 22 new Kodams to complete the 15 existing Kodams.

"In response to the circulation of news related to the plan to add Kodam, several reports made the public misinterpret," said Head of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Maj. Gen. Dr. Nugraha Gumilar in his statement, Thursday, February 29.

The news illustrates that the TNI will add 37 new Kodams, this is a misinterpretation of the TNI's plan to increase the number of Kodams that will be implemented in stages.

Kapuspen TNI straightened out so that the public would not misinterpret the TNI (TNI AD) plan which would increase the number of Kodams to be held throughout Indonesia, including in the State Capital (IKN).

"The truth is it adds to 37 from the previous 15 Kodam, so the addition is 22 Kodam," he concluded.

Previously, the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto said that his party planned to build 22 Military Regional Commands (kodam), one of which was in the Nusantara Capital (IKN) area.

This was revealed by Agus Subiyanto at the TNI-Polri Leadership Meeting (Rapim) at GOR Ahmad Yani TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, last Wednesday.

"The TNI AD plans to build and hold 37 Kodams. Of the 37 Kodam to be held, 15 Kodam are strengthened with the Korem, while 22 Kodam without the Korem under it include the construction of Kodam in IKN and 2 new Battalions," he said.
