Bus Driver Who Accident At Bakauheni Port Becomes A Suspect

The South Lampung Police have named F (36) an EVA STAR bus driver as a suspect in an accident at the Bakauheni Port Toll Gate, which killed one person.

"This accident was a factor of negligence because the driver did not check the condition of vehicle feasibility, then before seaport after the driver's toll gate exceeded the speed limit above 40 km/hour. At that time, he had used 6th gearspeed high, then there was no chance to move to lower teeth," said South Lampung Police Chief AKBP Yussriandi Yusrin as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 28.

"This is also the driver. He should have known because he often crossed Java-Sumatra so that the driver does not make rescue efforts to enter the rescue lane on the toll road, then there is no effort from the driver to honk his horn when approaching the seaport gate," he continued.

From the urine test on the bus driver, the results were negative for consuming alcohol and others.

For material victims, he said, the vehicles involved include a green Mercedes Benz PO EVA STAR with white combination number BG-7066-OI, silver Daihatsu Grandmax minibus number B-1159-FOD, and eight motorcycles.

"In this accident a person died and seven people were injured," he said.
