JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, praising the kingdom's efforts to find a solution to end the Russian invasion which has been going on for two years.

In a statement on President Zelensky's website, the two leaders discussed the Kyiv Peace Formula to end the conflict, thanking the crown prince for his "valuable advice" in finding ways to speed up its implementation.

"The head of state (President Zelensky) especially noted Saudi Arabia's efforts to help restore a just peace in Ukraine," said the statement, reported by Reuters, February 28.

"Saudi Arabia's leadership can help find a just solution," the statement continued, citing President Zelensky.

Furthermore, President Zelensky and the Crown Prince discussed the contents of the Swiss Peace Summit which was agreed to be held later this year. The two also discussed "possible steps to restore security for Ukraine, Europe, and the world."

"We have a common interest in ensuring global stability," the statement continued.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia's news agency said the Crown Prince "affirmed the Kingdom's will and support for all international endeavors and endeavors aimed at resolving the Ukraine-Russia crisis."

"We discussed the points of the Peace Formula and the progress that can be achieved in its implementation. Saudi Arabia's leadership can help in finding a just solution. We appreciate His Majesty's commitment to restoring true peace and thank him for his advice and support," wrote President Zelensky in the media social

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia previously acted as a mediator in the prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia. President Zelensky said he was confident his meeting on Tuesday would "bring results" in this regard.
