TANJUNG SELOR - The construction of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of North Kalimantan Province (Kaltara) which cost around Rp. 204 billion from the Kaltara Regional Budget for the 2022-2023 fiscal year, has not yet been completed 100 percent.
In addition to the incompleteness of several parts of the building, a number of rooms that will be occupied by 35 members of the Kaltara DPRD have not yet been filled with furniture. Ironically, a number of chairs, tables and furniture to be placed in the workspace looks messy.
Chairman of the North Kalimantan DPRD Albertus Stefanus Marianus said the provincial government (Pemprov) of Kaltara through the PUPR-Perkim Kaltara Service had previously promised to accommodate the construction of the people's representative office on December 31, 2023.
"Then this year (2024) there will be another addendum of 50 days, automatically on February 20, 2024 we can already have an office in this new building. But the condition is that some rooms are still being worked on and are still in disarray," said Albertus, Tuesday, February 27.
Although it has not been completed, continued Albertus, the council members have used several rooms for meetings and plenary sessions.
"We'll just use the room that can be used for meetings first, if the plenary session room can be used optimally," said Albertus.
"If you want to postpone it, I don't know if there are any more addendums. If there are addendums, you can ask them (DPUPR-Perkim) but I heard that until March, that alone there is no clarity and we have also not summoned the DPUPR-Perkim," he continued.
This PDIP politician emphasized that his party will summon the DPUPR-Perkim to ask for clarity on when the new building will be completed.
"We are moving gradually, there are still many facilities that are not yet available to support the work of council members and secretariats. For example, internet networks that have not been installed and so on," he explained.
Albertus assessed that the progress of the new building of the Kaltara DPRD was inadequate because there was still something that had to be resolved.
"Landscape or parking lot has not yet been completed, for the time being the secretariat of the administrative council is still working in the old building. Hopefully, the Provincial Government can immediately complete this DPRD building," he concluded.
