The reason is, the Golkar Party has recommended the two names to fight for the seat of DKI 1. "Golkar has given the task of DKI Jakarta to 2 names, namely first Mr. Ridwan Kamil, the second Mr. Zaki Iskandar. Both of them have the same potential to be nominated as candidates for governor of DKI Jakarta. Ace explained that internally the Golkar party had a mechanism to determine who would be officially nominated in the Pilkada. Therefore, Golkar gave Zaki and RK the flexibility to continue to increase their respective electability. "And after that, Golkar will conduct a survey of the two names. If there are two of them who have high enough potential to be nominated as governor of DKI Jakarta, then that will be chosen by Golkar," explained Ace. In addition, Ace continued, the DKI Pilkada must also consider the results of the 2024 General Election. Because he said, the nomination of regional heads still uses the requirements of 20 percent of political party votes. "So of course Golkar has given an assignment to both of them to run as governors of DKI Jakarta," said the chairman of the West Java Golkar DPD. Ace also revealed the considerations of the Golkar Party choosing Ahmed Zaki and Ridwan Kamil for DKI 1. It is known that Zaki is the chairman of the DKI Jakarta Golkar DPD who is also a former regent of Tangerang for two terms.

"What is geographically close to Jakarta. Of course, he has experience, has the ability and is considered successful in leading Tangerang district. Well, when there is an opportunity in DKI Jakarta, why doesn't the Golkar Party also encourage Pak Zaki to become governor of DKI Jakarta," said this member of the West Java electoral district DPR.
