The South Sulawesi Governor’s Spokesperson Claims There Was No Evidence During The Arrest Of Nurdin Abdullah

MAKASSAR - Spokesperson for the South Sulawesi Provincial Government, Veronica Moniaga, said that no evidence was secured by the Governor of South Sulawesi Nurdin Abdullah when the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) team visited him.

"No evidence at all was taken when the KPK team picked them up", said Veronica in Makassar, Saturday, February 27.

According to Veronica, Nurdin Abdullah was resting when the KPK team arrived. The governor of South Sulawesi is said to be cooperative with the KPK team.

"The Governor was awakened, indeed this is certainly a shocking thing that there was not one letter and then he was approached by the KPK", he continued.

Nurdin Abdullah was brought by the KPK team. Currently, Nurdin Abdullah and 5 other people are already at the KPK.

"The Corruption Eradication Commission came to meet you, he said that just for a talk at first, he said he was ready because that's what citizens should be", said Vero.

As previously, KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri said that amount of cash was secured in this hand-arrest operation (OTT). The KPK chairman emphasized that the legal process still upholds the presumption of innocence.

"Law enforcement must also uphold human rights. The principle of the presumption of innocence must also be respected. The KPK will announce the suspect after the examination of witnesses and suspects is complete. We'll present them at a press conference", Firli told reporters, Saturday, February 27.

The KPK team immediately examined the six people. Within 24 hours, the legal status of Nurdin Abdullah and other people arrested by the KPK will be determined on Friday, February 26 evening.

"The parties who were secured arrived in Jakarta and at around 09.45 a.m. local time arrived at the Red and White KPK building", said the Spokesperson for the Corruption Eradication of the KPK, Ali Fikri.
