Bawaslu Will Have A Plenary Meeting To Discuss Sirekap Audit

Chairman of Bawaslu Rahmat Bagja said his party would hold a plenary meeting to discuss the audit of the Recapitulation Information System (Sirekap).

"We will have a plenary meeting in the future on this audit issue. There must be a reason to then make suggestions for improving the audit of Sirekap," said Bagja as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 23.

Bagja conveyed that there were several questions that the General Elections Commission (KPU) had to answer to the public.

"Why is it like this? Why is the OCR (optical character recognition) a bit difficult? How is that something that must be answered by KPU friends, and we are not the ones who answer, the KPU answers," he said.

Bawaslu invites the public to ask for transparency from the KPU regarding Sirekap, as done by Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW), on Thursday (22/2).

"Yes, go ahead," said Bagja.

Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari emphasized that he would not stop broadcasting the vote acquisition data in the 2024 Election Recapitulation Information System (Sirekap).

According to Hasyim, this was done for the sake of transparency in the implementation of elections to the public, especially in terms of uploading original photos of the C1-Plano Model Form or records of vote count results for the 2024 General Election.

"The point is for photos, Plano Results C Forms at TPS, we will continue to upload them," said Hasyim.

He also ensured that the process of correcting and synchronizing data with the votes that were recapitulated manually in stages continued, although some of the data had been wrong due to errors in reading by the system.

"We are still showing this because of what? Voters or political parties who do not have witnesses want to access information on the development of plenary results at polling stations from where? Precisely with Sirekap this can be accessed, can be monitored, can be monitored," he said.
